CBRE recently facilitated a leasing transaction for the Australian cycling apparel brand MAAP by securing a prime location to open its first flagship store in Hong Kong.
Located on the ground floor of Man Yee Arcade in Central, the flagship spans approx. 2,061 sq. ft. and is highly accessible to the public year-round from the two main entrances on Queen’s Road and Des Voeux Road. Bringing MAAP’s signature design aesthetic, the store will encompass an expansive showroom showcasing the full suite of cycling offerings, race kits, training wear, off-bike apparel to other accessories, all available for instant purchase.
The new location will also enable a uniquely curated customer engagement that takes hospitality and lifestyle service to an unprecedented new level. A café concept, devised by MAAP, will complement this all-encompassing experience. Together with the 18-metre-high spacious atrium and hi-tech skylight at Man Yee Arcade, customers will enjoy a unique and unparalleled experience.
The thoroughfare Man Yee Arcade is conveniently located within a five-minute walk from both the Central MTR station (Exit C) and Hong Kong MTR station (Exit C).
Oliver Cousins, Co-Founder of MAAP, said: “We’ve always had strong ambitions of expanding the LaB (Life Around Bikes) concept and creating our own community and cultural hubs around the world. The new flagship store in Hong Kong embodies MAAP's passion for a Life around Bikes, emphasising real-world connections within local communities. Each of our new LaBs will offer a familiar look whilst delivering a unique feel and experience. Connecting with local brands and creative cultural reference points that surround the store are core to the LaB offering, something that we are continually working on developing in our pursuit of progression.”
Lawrence Wan, Senior Director, Head of Advisory & Transaction Services – Retail, CBRE Hong Kong, said: “We are delighted to have supported MAAP’s debut in Hong Kong and secured such a prime location, at the epicentre of east and west, appealing to both local and overseas communities. This addition of MAAP in Central will further enhance the atmosphere in the area, resonating with and driving the city’s healthy and sustainable lifestyle. It underscores the long-term commitment to Hong Kong and the broader Asia market, as well as its commitment to progressing the cycling experience. We look forward to the opening of the flagship stores and supporting MAAP’s continued growth ambitions.”
