As Executive Managing Director for Tenant Representation and Client Management in Asia, John is responsible for leading a small team of professionals who co-ordinate and manage work undertaken across the region for large international corporations. The team is focused on building relationships, understanding client needs, excellence and consistency in service delivery, and ensuring that the best resources of the company are applied to create innovative real estate solutions.
Having worked and lived in Asia for over 17 years with permanent residency established in Hong Kong, John has a thorough understanding of the regional real estate markets, cultural sensitivities and different practices. His market experience, together with over 25 years experience in delivering a broad range of integrated services across different geographies and business lines, provides him with a unique opportunity to support our clients and made him well-known in the industry.
Before his current tenant representation and client management role, John was the regional Managing Director for Global Corporate Services for seven years where he was responsible for managing CB Richard Ellis’s outsourcing teams supporting clients across the diversified countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
These dedicated centralised teams comprised some 65 professionals with different skills, experiences and cultural backgrounds who managed portfolios for more than 30 clients extending to more than 45 million sf. Services delivered included Strategic Planning and Consulting, Transaction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, Portfolio Management and Tenant Brokerage.
John began his property career at Richard Ellis in London in 1985 where he gained experience in valuation, development, portfolio management, tenant representation and Corporate Real Estate services. Before moving to Hong Kong in early 1993, John worked for six years in the United Kingdom and for two years in Milan, Italy.
From May 2000 to July 2001, John worked with flexible office space provider, Regus as their Asia-Pacific Director for Corporate Development. In this role, he was responsible for developing regional business plans and growing the Asia-Pacific operations through acquisitions, joint-ventures and franchises. He also managed the regional office portfolio which extended to approximately 450,000sf in nine countries.
